Whitchurch-Stouffville Swim Club

Whitchurch-Stouffville Swim Club WSSC swimmers participate in competitive meets throughout Ontario and are proud to represent their Community!

We provide a multi-level swim program designed to develop interest and participation in competitive swimming. Swimmers are provided with a solid coach run training plan to match their abilities and ambitions. Physical development, proper conditioning and good health habits are encouraged as the athlete strives for success. Swimmers also learn Team aspects of co-operation, responsibility and leadership, as well individual dedication, confidence and self-esteem. An atmosphere is created in which the desire of self-improvement and goal achievement motivates the individual to develop their natural abilities and to help others do likewise.

Clear skies, full hearts, calm water - it was the perfect day for our swimmers who competed in their very first open water competition. Stepping into the unknown takes courage and our swimmers did exactly that on Saturday. They embraced every challenge that came with racing in open water and pushed through with determination and confidence.

But what made us most proud was the way these 13 swimmers showed up for each other. Huge congratulations to Adam, Aiden, Alex, David, Ellie, Emery, Hillary, Kathryn, Kennedy, Liam, Nathan, Sophia and William - from cheering each other on from the shoreline to offering encouragement before and after every race, our swimmers showed that success is about conquering challenges together, lifting each other up and succeeding as a team.

So many core memories for both the swimmers and the parents who got to witness it all 💜

Our swimmers traded lane lines for open water as they took on a swim session surrounded by fresh air and an unforgettable sunset. Open water swimming challenges swimmers in new ways and we are grateful for the opportunity to enjoy summer, embrace new challenges and make memories together as a team 💜

What an incredible few days at the Ontario Swimming Championships last week!

Congratulations to our swimmers for representing WSSC with resilience and heart 💜 We couldn’t be prouder of all of you. You rose to the challenge, performed under pressure, and delivered outstanding performances. Racing against Ontario’s top swimmers takes confidence, composure and grit and you showed all three. Congratulations to all the new club records and personal bests achieved. Shout out to Etienne, Matthew and Aiden for their podium finishes.
