A hip replacement may change the joint—but maintaining mobility remains part of the journey.
I worked with this client before her surgery, helping her preserve strength, movement options and confidence going into the procedure. Her recovery went very well, and now our focus has shifted.
In this session, I’m looking at her available hip internal and external rotation—not to force more range, but to understand what her hip can access comfortably and safely.
Using gentle Fascial Stretch Therapy and FRC-informed techniques, we’re working to:
- Maintain the mobility she currently has
- Gradually build tissue tolerance around the hip
- Improve control within her available range
- Support the everyday movements that help her remain active and independent
Mobility work matters both before and after surgery—but the approach must reflect the individual, their stage of recovery and their medical guidance.
The goal isn’t to chase the biggest range.
It’s to help her use the range she has with greater comfort, control and confidence.
