It’s a busy weekend for the Ponoka Pool Sharks. 🦈💙

Day 2 and our Ponoka Pool Sharks are going strong! 🦈💙

We’re in the water racing hard, cheering each other on, and showing off the incredible team spirit that makes this club so special! Between swims, we’ve also got our eyes on Team Canada in the men’s Olympic gold medal hockey game, so the energy on deck is pretty amazing today.

The Ponoka Pool Sharks are hosting our annual Cookie Classic Swim Meet, and it’s a big deal. 🦈🍪💙
Come on by and cheer on our Sharks as they race their hearts out.

We’re also selling Shark Raffle tickets with some amazing prizes donated by our local community. Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5. Grab a few, support the team, and you could win something awesome!

This is Day 2 of the swim meet in Red Deer at the Michener Centre and the Ponoka Pool Sharks are making serious waves! We were here yesterday and we’re back today, and our swimmers are showing up strong.
So many Sharks are shaving time off their events, racing hard, cheering each other on and having an absolute blast together as a team!

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Will Bowie! 🦈💙
Will just achieved a provincial qualifying time in his 200 Breaststroke, which means he’ll be heading to Provincials for ages 13 and over. What an incredible accomplishment and a true reflection of all your hard work.

🤔Do you have a little one who loves the water, or wants to feel more confident in it? 🏊‍♀️ 🏊‍♂️

THE PONOKA POOL SHARKS ARE EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE OUR NEXT SHARK PUPS SESSION BEGINNING FEBRUARY 3, 2026.

Shark Pups is a 12 week pre-competitive Learn to Swim program that helps kids develop strong swimming skills in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. There are no competitions in this program. It is all about learning, confidence building, and enjoying time in the water.

The program focuses on the four swim strokes, offers small class sizes, and is led by encouraging and experienced coaches. It is an excellent option for kids who enjoy swimming but are not quite ready for full competitive training.

Class times run between 4:45 PM and 6:30 PM. Registration opens January 7, 2026.

Program levels and availability:

Beginner 30 minutes on Tuesdays
$150 with 6 spots available

Intermediate 45 minutes on Tuesdays and Thursdays
$250 with 5 spots available

Advanced 45 minutes on Tuesdays and Thursdays
$250 with 7 spots available

This program is a wonderful opportunity for children to build skills, confidence, and comfort in the water while having fun and being part of a great swim community.

What a wonderful home meet today for the Ponoka Pool Sharks. 💙🦈
We are so proud of our swimmers for their hard work, determination, and positive attitudes in the pool. It was a great day filled with team spirit and strong swims!

So grateful for this amazing team and our coaches, and a big thank you to the Ponoka Aquaplex for always hosting us!
