This photo was taken at a point in my pregnancy when I was just beginning to feel safe enough to feel excited.
I delayed telling people I was pregnant, pushed out my baby shower, and delayed getting pictures done for as long as I could.
After years of trying to conceive, finally being pregnant brought so much joy, but it also brought uncertainty. Even at 30 weeks, I was still finding my way through those feelings.
Pregnancy can hold so many feelings at once. We bring our own histories and experiences into this journey, shaping how we navigate the unknowns and how we feel about birth.
While we can’t control exactly how things will unfold, we can resource ourselves to navigate this transformational time with a deeper connection to our values and greater confidence in our capacity to bring new life into the world.
My personal experience of pregnancy and the stories of the women I have taught this past decade inform how I teach my Prenatal Yoga classes.
🌿 Through thoughtfully chosen postures to deeply release pelvic tension and create space in the body.
🌿 Through breathing practices, guided awareness, and restorative postures to soothe the nervous system and invite rest.
🌿 Through pregnancy and birth education to build knowledge and deepen trust in your own innate wisdom.
🌿 Through connection with other expectant moms, creating space to share your experiences and feel supported.
These practices weave together to support you through pregnancy and as you prepare for birth and parenthood.
This is at the heart of my Prenatal Yoga series at Embody Yoga & Wellness.
Join us in person or online via Zoom. No previous yoga experience is needed, and recordings are available for one week after each class so you can revisit the practices at home.
