After 17 incredible years, it’s the end of an era 💫
On April 17, GYFOF will host its last dance fitness class.
Since 2009, I haven’t had my evenings to myself. I started this journey at 25 years old with big energy, a lot of passion, and NO idea how much it would shape my life. Over the years I’ve sacrificed time, missed moments, and poured my whole heart into building something that became so much more than a fitness class — it became a community.
My life looks very different now, and for the first time ever… I’m choosing a reset. And I’m choosing me.
Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart. Owning this business was never just about showing up to teach a class. It was countless late nights creating content, answering messages, managing bookings, troubleshooting, marketing, planning, pivoting, and constantly finding creative ways to keep things afloat in an ever-changing economy. Small businesses run on passion — but they also run on grit, resilience, and community support. If there’s one thing I hope you carry forward, it’s to continue supporting local. Be mindful of where you spend your money. Your support truly matters more than you know.
This isn’t goodbye to movement forever. I know I’ll teach again in some capacity down the road. But for now, I’m stepping away from weekly classes and taking my evenings back. (I will still be available for hire for schools, community groups and private events ❤️)
To my incredible instructor team — Gill, Dana, Kaitlin, Jess & Sam — there truly aren’t words. You helped put VXN on the map, not just in Newfoundland but across Canada. You believed in the vision, you showed up, you led with strength and heart, and you helped build something so special. I love each and every one of you. Thank you for being such a huge part of this journey. Xoxo
To every single person who has ever walked through those doors — thank you. For your dedication. Your energy. Your loyalty. Your friendship. GYFOF is what it is because of YOU. The sweat, the laughs, the empowerment, the confidence — that was all created together.
This will be the first time since I began teaching that I won’t be teaching anything at all. That feels surreal. I will miss seeing your beautiful faces every week more than you know.
Here’s to 17 unforgettable years.
Here’s to growth.
Here’s to knowing when it’s time.
And here’s to whatever comes next. 💛
