A huge shoutout to the team at Sobeys Mount Pearl for their incredible support of the Empire Campaign! 💙

Special Olympics NL Mount Pearl Warriors athlete and Sobeys staff member Mark Peddle joined fellow staff members in promoting Special Olympics Newfoundland and Labrador and encouraging customers to support the campaign. Athlete David Wells even stopped by on his lunch break to take part in the excitement!

With a fundraising goal of $3,000, the team at Sobeys Mount Pearl is already on track to surpass that milestone this weekend. 🎉

And just like that our 2026 Law Enforcement Torch Run Newfoundland and Labrador Officer Run is COMPLETE! SONL would like to thank all the runners, officers, volunteers, and athletes for making this another successful event.

We would also like to thank Capital Subaru for hosting us at the finish line, providing us with much needed hotdogs & snacks, and for their generous donation of $500!

Finally, a big thank you to the Newfoundland & Labrador Association Municipal Police & Enforcement Officers for their generous donation of $200.

It's donations like these that keep the Special Olympic spirit alive!
