And with that… we bid farewell to the SJS BU13 Lighthouse Team. ❤️
It’s hard to put into words what this season has meant to all of us. We went into league playoffs undefeated, and while that record is something to be incredibly proud of, our biggest victory was never found on a scoreboard. May sound cliche, but…
It was found in the friendships.
In the laughter.
In the car rides, practices, tournaments and team talks.
In the celebrations after a win and the way they picked each other up when things didn’t go their way.
In watching these boys grow — not just as soccer players, but as teammates, friends and young men.
20 games.
17 wins.
2 draws.
1 loss.
But long after we forget the scores, we’ll remember this team.
We’ll remember the little moments that nobody else saw. The inside jokes. The sideline cheers (or gasps!). Peter’s catchphrases. The smiles. The moments when the kids looked around and realized they had a whole team beside them.
And maybe that’s why saying goodbye feels so bittersweet.
Because seasons end. Teams change. Kids grow. Life moves forward. But for one special season, these boys were BU13 Lighthouse — and they created something that will stay with them long after the final whistle.
This isn’t really goodbye.
It’s just the end of one chapter in a story we hope continues for many years to come.
We will always be family.
