Our Intro to Climbing program yesterday was a huge hit!

People learned belaying and rappelling on multiple devices and climbing techniques like hand jams, foot jams, stemming and smearing.

All while enjoying the beautiful views!

Our next intro day is June 27th. Beginner friendly 😊

Squamish Climbing Academy hosts day and overnight climbing camps where youth and teens get mentorship from certified climbing guides. Overnighters stay in the Adventure Inn where they meet lifelong friends and do fun evening programs like movie night in the boulders. We have 3, 5, 7 and 11 camps each different levels, all will help your kids build safe climbing habits while learning to climb real rock. Our camps include a peak experience which is normally a multi-pitch climb that is selected based on their ability level. Our high-school climbers 🧗 are able to set up top ropes safely now and have done an average of 4 climbs per session.

In our afterschool program we have taught anchors, edge protection, systems thinking, rappelling, and how to set up ropes with good etiquette for the climbers below. They will have 7 more sessions with a ACMG climbing guide who can mentor them for a lifetime of safe climbing outdoors.

Next stop sport climbing!
