There comes a time when the horse tells you itβs time to stop. This spring, my perfect old man Yogi told me in his own way that he was ready for full retirement. π₯²
It was the little things. The lack of bulk he normally carried coming out of winter. The stiffness walking out of his stall every morning. The way everything just became slower with him.
Yesterday, Yogi loaded onto the trailer like the absolute perfect gentleman that he is to head to his new home out at my best friends field to live out his remaining days eating as much grass as he wants and roaming in as much space as he could want. β¨
I am sad to see him go yet incredibly happy for where he is going. I am so grateful for the time he has given us here and the countless people he has taught. π
Thank you to everyone who has cared for Yogi, whether you have leased him, brushed him or even fed him a carrot. Especially thank you to Alora Van Veen and Sadie for being his constants over the past couple of years.
And to Yogiβ¦
Thank you for being exactly what you are.
Perfect. β€οΈ
