ππββοΈ The second half of the Golden Hour Ultra 24-Hour Relay was where the real physical and mental challenge began. πͺπ§
At 7:25 PM, I headed out for my first jog of the event and somehow managed a personal best 4 km time! π€―πββοΈ It definitely didnβt feel like a PB, but Iβll take it!
As our day crew headed home, our incredible night crew arrived and kept Team 3D Fitness moving through the night. π Around midnight, Melisa joined me for both of our second leg of the relay. I jogged and walked.
A huge thank you to Anne and Doug for holding down the tent while Andrea and Elza completed their night runs. πβ€οΈ
I was awake for approximately 31.5 hours π
and the toughest stretch was definitely between 2:00β4:00 AM. Yet somehow, we kept moving forward. Anne and I took on the 4am shift in the rain.
π As the relay came to an end, Elza encouraged me to jog the final 10 minutes as team captain. After being awake for over 27 hours, I wasnβt eager to pick up the pace, but Iβm grateful for the push. πͺβ¨ Elza and Doug joined me for the final stretch, and together we crossed the finish line at 8:00 AM. β€οΈ
What an unforgettable 24 hours of teamwork, determination, friendship, and memories that will last a lifetime. π
