GREY vs. WHITE — THIS WASN’T A SCRIMMAGE.
It’s been a long time since the Regals held an intersquad game like this—maybe ever.
If this was our first look at the 2026/27 group, we learned plenty.
New blood. New attitude. A new foundation.
Grey came flying out of the gate, building a 3–1 first-period lead with speed, skill and some seriously smart hockey. White settled in during the second, answered back and pulled within one at 5–4.
Then the third period got personal.
The pace stayed high, the physicality went up and suddenly nobody remembered this was an intersquad game. White erased the deficit, and Williams buried the game-winner as Team White completed the comeback with an 8–6 victory.
Desnoyers was all over the scoresheet with a HATTRICK, while Vaughn also finished with three points. Healey answered back with a HATTRICK also for Grey, Hillgardner added two, and both Bashow and Haugan converted penalty shots.
Plenty of others got involved, including Pennoyer, Sicard, Boulter, Pawluk and Johnson.
Two very different styles. One highly competitive hockey game.
The names on the jerseys may change—but the want, desire and compete better not.
That looked like a group ready to build something.
