the military maintains the border between the Restricted Quarter and the rest of the Republic. no one is permitted in or out. officially. as a prisoner of the Republic, you have been forced to volunteer for a dangerous job - collected artifacts from the contaminated zone, and bring them to the Administrator. your records erased from prison databases, your identification ceased to exist.

the Quarter is dangerous - you will have to buy your equipment to protect yourself. everything costs money. your weapons, food, ammunition, protection from the environment, medical equipment. it all costs bottle caps. you'll need to earn caps to buy your equipment, and to buy your way out. the Administrator demands payment for your visa to cross the Border. the Checkpoint is closed after 0700, so you'll need to work fast to earn your escape. otherwise, you're trapped beyond the border, where your fate is uncertain at best.

the Restricted Quarter continues to attract scavengers and customers seeking items from beyond the Boundary. the RPEC administration continues to maintain NFA checkpoints across the Boundary in counter-smuggling operations, and to keep the wildlife firmly inside the Quarter. somehow, artifacts keep getting to the black market outside the Restricted Quarter.

the NFA call those of us who have have found work bringing customers artifacts from the Quarter "trespassers". well, i guess i will be trespassing again. i assume that we'll see more coveralls again this year. if necessary, i can always ... convince them to sell me any of the artifacts they find. the customer is looking for a couple of specific items again and last time i was there coveralls had ransacked the place and it was hard to be choosy.

the sunrise after is an overnight dystopian survival game where you must purchase critical supplies like food, ammunition and medical devices with bottlecaps, balancing the fact that you need to buy your way out with bottlecaps. you have been forced into the Restricted Quarter to collect artifacts for the Administrator, and he will only let you out if you pay for your visa to exit. you must resist the world, the environment and other players - will you survive and buy your way out?

October 2-4 (Friday until Sunday morning)

critical timings

Friday:
players will be processed through the Checkpoint into the Restricted Quarter, and are permitted only to remain in the Border Zone except to set up their camp. No violence or thieving is permitted during this time.
the Bar will be open, beverages and food will be available for purchase (using bottlecaps) and the game is on, other than the restriction of no violence or theft. Your game fee has paid for the beverages and snacks available for purchase using the in-game currency.

Saturday:
players will be permitted to enter the wooded area following a briefing in the morning.

players arriving Saturday will be processed through the Checkpoint.

Sunday:
players must purchase their visa to exit from the Restricted Quarter before 7:00am. the game ends at 7:00am

good for enterprising individuals who know what artifacts fetch on the black market.

rumours spread throughout the prison that prisoners who "volunteer" for some work for the warden never return - but some inside have gotten messages from a few volunteers from the outside. they are now free, and talk about returning to the Quarter.

the warden wants to talk with you privately when he returns next week - will you "volunteer" to do the work he proposes?
