Thank you to all the families who registered — we’ve seen an incredible response this year. Due to current ice availability, the following divisions are now full and operating with waitlists:

OMHA
· Waitlist only: U7 | U8 | U9 | U13 | U15
· Limited spots remaining: U5 | U18

OWHA
· Waitlist only: U7 | U11 | U13
· Limited spots remaining: U9 | U15 |U18

While we never want to turn players away, the number of ice surfaces available in our community limits how many teams we can safely support.

Addressing long-term ice needs is something that can only be solved at the municipal level by the Town of Saugeen Shores.

We appreciate everyone’s patience as we continue to advocate for solutions that allow more kids to play hockey in our community.

SSMHA Families,
Thank you for your strong support with the opening of our registration for the 2026-2027 season. Registration is first-come, first-served. Due to strong demand and limited ice availability, some divisions have already filled or are nearing capacity.

Please continue to register for the waitlist if required. Final allocations will be confirmed once registration closes. We will accommodate as many players as possible within the ice time available.

Please note that open borders are in effect, and players may choose to register with a neighbouring association, if placed on a waitlist.

Registration for the 2026-2027 season is now open!
We strongly encourage families to register as early as possible. Several divisions reached capacity last season, and division caps will be in place again this year. Waiting to register may result in your child not securing a spot.

Please note:

Registration opens: Tuesday, May 19 at 8:00 AM
Division caps: Registrations may close early if divisions fill
Late fee: A $150 late fee will apply to all registrations completed after June 15
Registration fees: Fees have increased slightly this year due to rising operating costs
Registering early helps ensure your child’s place for the season and avoids late fees or disappointment.

SSMHA will be offering both in person and online registration. Online registration opens 8am Tuesday May 19th with in person registration being offered from 6-8pm at the James Mason Center on Saugeen First Nation.
Don’t forget to include the option of Bust the Rust skates while registering for applicable age groups! More information and reminders will be posted in the days leading up to the opening of registration.
