Thought I should wrap up my own tournament before posting about the incredible one I attended on the weekend.

Hello friends sorry I took so long,

We squeaked out another one without any major storms. I have to admit things were not looking Good Friday night and early Saturday morning. Although those first few cards got a little wet, we were off and throwing at 7:30 sharp.

Dennis and I would like to thank each and everyone of you for an amazing and successful weekend of disc golf. Without all of you, this tournament is nothing. The whole Dreamaker Disc Golf crew appreciates your attendance and support for this amazing course. Everyone was so appreciative, and respectful, to all of our volunteers and staff, this made for a very enjoyable weekend.

As with all tournaments, the work started well before the event. This year the goal was to finish off the Tee Pads that you all have been helping us raise funds for. It was time to turn all that fundraising and support into concrete. Honestly, with the winter we had in Bruce County, I was not confident that we would be blessed with the time to get the job done. Dennis and Rick, however were determined and when they put their minds to something, it happens. It does take a lot of help to get the job done though, so it is time to thank Dennis, Rick, Nate, Austin, Jacob, Kevin, VW Dave, Jenn, Chris, Craig, John, and Steve for all there hard work and time, making the dream a reality. The tee pads were not the only task to be completed though, Kevin, Andrew, Colten, Lindsay and Ryan also chipped in as we also needed to fix OB Lines and wanted to whisker the circle ones.

What is a disc golf tournament and camping without food. We are so fortunate to have the best food crew. A huge shout out to Chop, Karrie and Nova Bibby, and Terri Cooper, for keeping everyone fed. To my spotters : Ashton and Noah (thanks for being our pond guys, you did a fabulous job, Andrew, Colten, Ian, and Jacob, and especially Nate on hole 14.(man you rocked it out there, those were some long days), thanks for keeping the course running smoothly and keeping things on time.

This year we were blessed to have a tournament photographer. Elena you put in some long days, we thank you for helping to preserve the memories. Sarah thanks for giving Elena a break and filling in. Please remember to be selective when posting photos on social media, especially when children are concerned. Do not post pictures of others without seeking permission first.

Once again, We would have been lost without my administrative crew. We could not handle this without you !!! Thanks to Ella, Leah, Sam and Shelley for their help assembling players packs and to Leah, Sam and Terri for all their help checking in players, selling raffles and 50/50, and getting the merchout’s ready. One of the things I love about disc golf is the way everyone pitches in, we also had a little tech support from Dale, Dave and Chris.

This tournament could not be done the way it is without the help of some great Sponsor’s. We thank the following for their contribution to this year’s tournament, Launch Custom Homes, Walkerton Home Hardware, Futures Gymnastics, Experience Camping,Camp Celtic, Ryan Duchesne, Peninsula Disc Golf Club,Trailer Adventure Rentals, The Fairhall Family, The Cooper Crew, Discy Chicks ,Peter Mount ,Click Gear, The Stuy Family, Hespler Powder Coating, and Lisa’s Sunset Grill (we actually forgot to draw for this one, so we will save it for the fall tournament)

The Dreamaker Open would not be the same without Mindy and Rob Myall on site to provide our Player’s Packs and On site Disc Expertise.

There were 5 Aces this year

David Pringle MA2 from the White Tee on Hole 8 (Did not buy into ace pot - Don’t be a David)
Luke White MA3 from the Red Tee on Hole 3
Rick Van Mourik MPO from the Blue Tee on Hole 13
Ian Brooks MA50 from White Tee on Hole17
Sarah Fairhall FA3 from the Red Tee also on Hole17
The Ace Pot was split four ways for $160 each.

There was no ACE on the Bounty Hole #6 this Year, The $505 dollars raised from this add on will be used on course improvements, future tournaments or to increase next years bounty

The 50/50 draw was a shared split of $385 between the tournament and Adam Thomson

Peter Mount was gracious enough take a video of the raffle draw. I will be sure to post that on the page for all to view. (If I can get it working)

We cannot wait to see you all again next year !!!
We can’t do any of this without all of you !!!
