World Rivers Day on the Bulkley River!

World Rivers Day is a chance to celebrate our clean, free-flowing rivers and all they provide. Once again, SkeenaWild is organizing an exciting Rivers Day celebration in the Bulkley Valley. You're invited!

When: Sunday, September 27, 2026
Where: Telkwa, B.C.

10:00 a.m. Community Float from Quick to Telkwa
Everyone is welcome to join our group float on the Bulkley River from Quick to Telkwa. We will be gathering at the Quick Bridge around 9:00 a.m. and will depart at 10:00 a.m. sharp. Canoes, kayaks, rafts, paddle boards, and other non-motorized watercraft welcome. Wear warm clothing and a PFD.

12:00 p.m. Wild Salmon BBQ at Eddy Park
Join us at Eddy Park in Telkwa starting at noon for a free community BBQ in celebration of our rivers. Featuring wild salmon provided by Wet'suwet'en Fisheries, veggies provided by Healthy Hugs Organics, food prepared by Jammin' Salmon, goodies from Rustica Bakery and coffee by Bugwood.

Live music and info tables
From Noon onwards, enjoy a live acoustic set at the Eddy Park gazebo by talented local recording artist Elijah Quinn (sponsored eby Aquabatics). You can also browse local conservation organizations' displays and find out what they're up to.
