I spent the most precious summers of my life on the Kvichak River with you . As a kid, you gave me a shot at a new way of life as I searched for “the great perhaps.” As an adult, I realize everything I have started with that one shot from you.
You’ve taught me so much : never run from a charge, my mistakes make me stronger, and every last detail matters. When we parted ways, you gave me the soundest business advice I needed to hear in the most fatherly way.
You were an inspiration to me then and even more so now as I watch you age so gracefully. May you always know the values you taught me on the banks of the Kvichak River ; I bring with me every day : time, people, and places are our most precious commodity.
