🌿 What a beautiful start to our Summer Garden Series! 🌿

Despite the pouring rain, our first event was a wonderful success. We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us and embraced the change in plans with such positivity. The cozy atmosphere made for a truly memorable practice.

We finished the evening with a relaxing sound bath, a perfect reminder to slow down, unplug, and simply breathe. A heartfelt thank you to Linda Lennox for sharing her incredible gift with us.

We’re also deeply grateful to Janis Dixon and Mark Cowan of Trade Wind Farm for opening their stunning gardens and welcoming us with such generosity and hospitality.

Our very first Summer Garden Pilates Series kicks off on June 17th, and we couldn’t be more excited to spend the season moving with you outdoors.

Whether you’re a seasoned Pilates lover or trying it for the first time, these classes are designed to help you build strength, improve mobility, and soak up all the goodness that comes from moving your body in nature.

Today is Global Running Day!

There is something powerful about choosing to run.

Not because you have to.
Not because you are training for something.

But because your body can move, your heart can carry you, and for a moment, the noise quiets down.

Running has a way of meeting you exactly where you are.
Some days it feels freeing.
Some days it feels challenging.
Some days it is the therapy, the reset, the release.

It is not about being the fastest person on the trail, treadmill, or sidewalk. It is about the feeling afterward: the clearer mind, the deeper breath, the reminder that you are stronger than you think.

So today, celebrate movement.
Go for the run.

June is Mental Health Awareness Month 🤍

At Towne Fitness, we believe movement is about so much more than changing your body.

It’s about clearing your mind after a hard day.
Releasing stress you’ve been carrying quietly.
Finding confidence again.
Feeling strong enough to keep going.

Some days, showing up for yourself looks like a heavy workout.
Some days, it looks like stretching, breathing, or simply walking through the doors.

Both count.

This month is a reminder that taking care of and talking about your mental health is not weakness, it’s one of the strongest things you can do.

Your workouts do not need to be punishment.
They can be celebration, therapy, release, community, healing.
Move your body because you deserve to feel good inside it.
Rest when you need to.
Ask for support when life feels heavy.
And remember: progress is not only physical.

Taking care of your health goes beyond workouts and nutrition, your skin health matters too.

Skin cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer, and while many of us love being active outdoors, it’s important to protect ourselves while doing it.

A few simple reminders as we head into sunnier days:
☀️ wear SPF daily (yes, even on cloudy days)
🕶️ protect your skin with hats & sunglasses
💧 stay hydrated
🔍 pay attention to new or changing spots on your skin
🏖️ reapply sunscreen, especially during outdoor activities

A reminder that there will be no classes over the May Long Weekend so our amazing instructors can take some well deserved time to rest, recharge, and spend quality time with their families 💛

BUT… the gym will remain open during regular hours for all members wanting to get their movement in!

Whether your weekend looks like workouts, beach walks, extra sleep, sunshine, family time, or all of the above… we hope you take some time to reset and enjoy it!

“Exercise gives you endorphins” is only part of the story.

Movement actually changes your brain chemistry in ways most people don’t realize:
• strength training can help regulate stress hormones
• walking can improve cognitive function and creativity
• consistent exercise supports deeper sleep
• movement increases blood flow to the brain
• exercise can improve emotional resilience over time

Your workout is not just affecting your body. It’s affecting your nervous system, your focus, your confidence, your patience, your energy, your mood. That’s why people leave the gym saying: “I feel so much better.”

Not because life magically changed in 60 minutes, but because their body finally got what it was asking for.

At Towne Fitness we care about building strong bodies, but we care just as much about building regulated nervous systems, confidence, routine, discipline, connection, and a place people can come to reset.
