Our History: Construction began on farmland for the original nine-hole course in 1959 and it opened for play on August 1, 1960. As additional land was acquired, many changes were made to the original layout, with two new holes put into play in 1993 and two additional holes in 1997. The final five holes were completed and the full 18 holes opened for play on September 12, 2001. Our Facilities: Includes 18 holes, putting green, practice area, pull & power carts, club rentals, pro shop, club storage, fully licensed lounge and deck area & restaurant.

We’ve never hosted a Closing Scramble for the men, and after seeing how much fun everyone has had this season, we thought… why not bring everyone together for one big day of fall golf? 🍁

Our Friday Night Fun Night Scramble has been a HUGE success this year, bringing together members, non-members, friends and families for some great golf and even better laughs.

The ladies will still have their own traditional Ladies’ Closing later in October, but on Saturday, October 3, we’re hoping to pull off a 4-Ball Closing Scramble that has something for everyone!

There was some fantastic golf played, but these pictures show what the Goudey Cup is really all about

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16 starts with the Junior High District Golf Championship!

πŸ† Young golfers in Grades 7–9 will be competing, with tee times beginning from 9:30 - 10:30 AM.
We’re excited to welcome these junior golfers to River Hills!

River Hills Golf & CC is excited to welcome young golfers for the Shelburne/Yarmouth Junior High District Championship! πŸ†

πŸ“… Wednesday, September 16οΏ½πŸŽ’ Grades 7–9�⏰ Tee Times: 9:30–10:30 AM

Junior golfers from schools throughout the Shelburne/Yarmouth area will take to the course, representing their schools and competing for a chance to move on!

πŸ† The top 2 schools will advance to Regionals at Eagle Crest next week!

You couldn’t have scripted a more exciting finish! ❀️

After an incredible afternoon of match play between River Hills and West Pubnico, it all came down to the final match on the course.

River Hills was leading 5–4, with only Gavin Swim’s match left to finish.

And Gavin was 1 DOWN heading into the final hole.

That meant there was only one way to clinch the Cup…

Gavin HAD to win the final hole to square his match and earn the half point River Hills needed! πŸ‘€β›³πŸ†

With the pressure on, Gavin gave himself a chance but was left facing a treacherous downhill birdie putt.
He needed to get down in two putts to win the hole, square his match and bring the Goudey Cup home to River Hills.

No pressure, Gavin! πŸ˜³πŸ˜‚

With everyone watching, he did exactly what he needed to do.
πŸ”₯ Two putts.οΏ½πŸ”₯ Won the hole.οΏ½πŸ”₯ Squared the match.οΏ½πŸ”₯ CUP CLINCHED!

Gavin’s comeback on the final hole earned River Hills the crucial Β½ point, giving us the final victory:

What a finish!

West Pubnico battled right to the very end, and the fact that the entire Goudey Cup came down to the last golfer on the last hole shows just how close and competitive this championship was.

And what a moment for Gavin β€” 1 down with one hole to play, knowing he had to win it, and delivering when his team needed him most. πŸ’š

One hole. Two putts. Half a point. One Goudey Cup Championship. πŸ†
