It was a busy week here at Whistling Pines, and a hot one at that! ☀️🐴

We managed to stay ahead of the heat with some beautiful early morning rides and a few lovely evening rides when the temperatures finally gave us a break.

One of the best parts of coaching is helping riders step just outside their comfort zone and watching them discover they're capable of more than they thought. This week, so many students had those "I can actually do this!" moments, and there really is nothing better than seeing that confidence shine through.

Whether it was mastering a new skill, riding a new horse, or simply finding the courage to try something different, there were lots of victories to celebrate this week.

The horses were patient, the riders were determined, and everyone left the ring a little more confident than when they arrived. That's what it's all about. ❤️

Miss Sue is quickly climbing the ranks as a rider favorite! She's become a valuable member of the lesson program and seems to enjoy her work—especially when it means hanging out with her herd mates. Whether she's teaching new skills or soaking up extra attention, she's always ready to clock in and earn her hay. 🐴🌟

What a beautiful week we’ve had at the barn! ☀️🐴
We kicked things off by getting everyone’s feet trimmed, followed by a great mix of one-on-one lessons, a few first-time riders, and of course our wonderful returning students. It’s always so exciting watching confidence grow in and out of the saddle.
To top it all off, I finished the week with a lovely ride alongside an old friend while she’s home visiting from Scotland. Horses really do have a way of bringing people back together, no matter how far life takes them. ❤️
Between the sunshine, happy horses, and lots of laughs in the barn aisle, it’s been one of those weeks that reminds you why barn life is the best life.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms, grandmas, stepmoms, horse moms, barn moms, and every woman who somehow manages to keep life running — even when the boots are muddy, the coffee is cold, and the horses are testing everyone’s patience. 💐🐴
Thank you for the early mornings, the endless rides to lessons, the forgotten gloves you somehow always remember, and the unconditional support both in and out of the saddle. The barn wouldn’t be the same without you.
An extra special Happy Mother’s Day to my own mom, whose constant support, encouragement, and willingness to help in any situation never goes unnoticed. Thank you for always being there through the busy days, the long hours, having a drink or snack ready for me and everything in between. ❤️
We hope your day is filled with love, laughter, and maybe even a few uninterrupted minutes to yourself.

Today we laid Booker to rest.

May your days be filled with endless grass, treats, and a life free from pain and discomfort.

It’s been a true pleasure having you as a boarder over the past few years.Thank you for everything you gave us—for helping build this business, and for being the horse everyone wanted to ride. You were the one who taught so many students their first canter, quietly taking care of them every step of the way.

You always preferred being close to people over horses, even if it meant standing right in the middle of everything (and occasionally being in the way). Unless, of course, I had meds in my pocket—then suddenly you could run like a five-year-old and convince us all you didn’t need them after all.

You were one of a kind, Bookie Boy,, and you will be deeply missed by so many. 🤍

It was a fantastic week of lessons! I even had the chance to coach a couple from the backs of some truly incredible horses.
So much learning happened alongside tons of laughs—coaching is truly a pleasure (even when the horses think they’re the ones in charge 😄).
I can’t get enough of this sunshine and warmer weather—mud, shedding hair, and all!
