We’re thrilled to officially kick off the 2025/26 season at Dakota Ridge—just in time for Christmas! Fresh snow has been piling up fast, and thanks to the amazing effort of our staff and volunteers 💪❤️, we’re able to offer a limited early-season opening.

Dakota Ridge is a popular winter recreation area with excellent cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails for all types of adventurers.

We are excited to announce that Dakota Ridge will be officially opening for the 2024/5 season on Friday, December 13 and we are eager to welcome the community back to our Winter Recreation Area!

Unfortunately, the rain and warm weather last week resulted in a reduction of our snowpack so please be prepared for limited trails being open, early season conditions and unmarked hazards on trails.

What we have been able to open:

✔️Cross Country Skiing - portion of Sechelt Main, and Squamish Main
✔️Snowshoeing - Eagle Lookout, and Balsam Loop.
✔️Sledding hill, warming hut, and vault toilet will also open on Friday, December 13.

For your safety, please respect all trail closures. The forecast for snow is looking great so we anticipate being able to open more trails soon!
