Summer brings changes in routine! With those changes, it can be hard to keep your healthy eating habits and workouts on track. Each week in June we'll be sharing a tip to help you have a healthier summer!

𝗧𝗶𝗽 #𝟯: 𝗔𝗶𝗺 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲!

A balanced plate includes a half plate of vegetables and fruit, a quarter plate of protein foods, and a quarter plate of carbs and starches. The beauty of this method is that you can adapt it easily, no matter where you are. You can use these guidelines to fill your plate at any BBQ or potluck. If you’re busy and need to prep ahead or rely on convenient options, you can still easily put together a meal that fits into the balanced plate.

Most people think of bands as rehab equipment, but they’ve been a staple in high-level strength programs for decades for a reason. 🔥

One of the biggest benefits of band work is that it helps strengthen connective tissue. Tendons and ligaments adapt more slowly than muscles, and band exercises allow you to accumulate a lot of quality work without the joint stress that often comes with heavier loading.

Band training can also:​
​✅ Improve tendon health and durability​
​✅ Increase force production​
​✅ Enhance explosiveness​
​✅ Build muscle and strength​
​✅ Improve mind-muscle connection​
​✅ Add training volume without excessive soreness

Bands create accommodating resistance, meaning the tension increases as the band stretches. This challenges your body to keep producing force throughout the entire range of motion instead of coasting through the strongest positions. ⚡

Another advantage? You can perform a lot of band work with very little recovery cost. That means you can strengthen weak links, improve movement quality, and build resilience without taking away from your primary training sessions.

Strong muscles are important. Strong connective tissue is what allows those muscles to keep performing for life. 🙌
