Hey!
From Nov 1 to Nov 30, you can participate in the Ontario University Mail Match! This is a casual competition between UTSG, UTM, UTSC, Waterloo, York, and Carelton. We highly encourage you to participate to get a sense for what scoring and competitive pressure feels like.
Categories:
Barebow Novice (less than 2 years at the club) - 60cm target, no sights
Barebow/Advanced - 40cm target
Olympic Recurve - 40cm target or 3-spot
Compound - 40cm target or 3-spot
scoring policy:
score cards are to be kept as records by each club, but only the number is needed for the sheet submission. we probably wonβt need to check the score sheets/we are trusting you to be honest/good faith about this but if we suspect something funky, we might request for you to provide a score card. inability to provide a score card upon request will result in the score being invalidated.
ends are not timed to accommodate for varying range activity/attendance
you can still be on the leaderboard with 1 scores/still qualify as part of the competition. the recommendation is 3-4 scores so you can get more practice with scoring and be reassured that you have a chance to improve throughout the month.
minimum score to be on leaderboard: 1
maximum scores submitted by any person to a single category: 4
individuals can compete in multiple categories, submitting a maximum total of 4 scores per category (restrictions only apply for the novice category) (e.g. maximum amount of scores would be 12, 4 from barebow, olympic, and compound)
final score calculation: the top 2 scores you have submitted in a category will be added (if you only submit one score, then that is the final score)
