Months of rehearsals have led to this moment.

Before the lights come up and the music begins, there’s an entire world unfolding behind the curtain. Dancers warm up together, friendships shine through, costumes come together, parents fill the theatre, teachers make their final preparations, and excitement builds with every passing minute.

In this chapter, you’ll step behind the scenes on recital day and experience the anticipation, laughter, traditions, and teamwork that make Live Show Weekend so special. From backstage games and final words of encouragement to the little moments shared between dancers, teachers, volunteers, and families, this is the side of the show that the audience rarely gets to see.

Because while the performances may only last a few minutes on stage, the memories being made behind the curtain last a lifetime.

Way to go Jordynn 🩵

🎈 She could have asked for anything for her 15th birthday. Instead, she asked for school supplies. ❤️

Sometimes, the most powerful acts of kindness come from the most unexpected places.

A local 15 year old decided that instead of receiving birthday gifts, she wanted to give back to children in her community.

She reached out to friends, peers and her dance team at Elite Dance Force, asking them to help collect school supplies for children and youth who may need a little extra support.

Today, she brought those donations to the Children’s Aid Society of Algoma and we were reminded just how much one young person can inspire an entire community.

Her reason was simple:

She likes giving back whenever she can.

She also has a personal connection to foster care. Her aunt was once a foster parent with the Children’s Aid Society of Algoma, giving her a firsthand understanding of the difference foster families can make and the needs of children in our community.

To this incredible young person, her family, her friends and everyone at Elite Dance Force who helped make this possible:

🎬 ELITE LIVE SHOW 2026 — CHAPTER TWO: PUTTING IT TOGETHER

The lights are being tested. The cues are being called. The dancers are finding their places. And with Live Show Weekend getting closer, dozens of moving pieces have to start becoming one show.

Chapter Two takes us deeper into rehearsal as the Elite team work through the technical side of bringing the show to life — lighting changes, backstage cues, last-minute adjustments, and all of those little “technical boo-boos” that remind us exactly why rehearsals exist. 😂

But at the centre of this rehearsal is one of the biggest challenges of the week: the finale.

With dozens of dancers sharing the stage, every entrance, position, cue, count and final bow has to come together. We get a behind-the-scenes look at the dancers learning, adjusting, laughing, listening and trying it again until all of those individual pieces slowly begin to feel like one.

And amongst all the work, there are still the moments that make Live Show Week special — nervous dancers waiting in the wings, backstage laughs, a little food to keep everyone going, final words of encouragement, and even the beginning of a special moment for one of Elite’s graduating dancers. 💙

The show is getting closer.

And it’s all starting to come together.
