IMPORTANT UPDATES: Tonight's practice (October 6th) has been cancelled. Also, there will be no practice next Monday, October 13th as it is a holiday. We hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend with family or friends, and we look forward to skating with you the following week!

We’re back, baby! The Superior Spitfires are ramping up for another year of skating, derby, and good times - practices are every Monday, 6:30-8:30pm at the Garden River Rec Centre, starting tonight September 8.

Skate maintenance:

It’s important to clean your derby skates regularly. Wiping them down after each use/ when they get dirty is good, but doing a deep clean at least once a month when used regularly is ideal.

Some of our team members got together for skate maintenance before we return our borrowed skates. We adjusted the trucks, tightened toe stops, removed and cleaned wheels, cleared axels & rethreaded laces.

Huge shout out to Nickel City Roller Derby for sharing their skates for months at a time. We are so appreciative of your generosity ❤️

Hi all - just a reminder there’s no derby practice tonight! Next one is Wed April 30th (rescheduled due to the election that Monday). Drop-ins are always welcome for $10 a session. Please note that as of the end of this month we will no longer have loaner gear.

We are doing it again, Roller Derby 101- starting March 3rd with a Meet the Team and Gear Intro!

All experience levels are welcome but must be 18+. We will teach you skating basics along with roller derby skills. We can't wait to share our love for this sport with all of you! So be sure to come out March 3rd, and we will help you learn about your gear and get set up to start on March 10th.

Huge thank you to the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre for having us join in on all of the Family Day activities again! We had an amazing time skating with our community members. Everyone had a blast and we loved seeing all the smiling faces.

Also thank you to CTV and Soo Evening Newspaper for interviewing some of our members. We are so grateful to be able to share our story with you and our community!
