As we wrap up Wilbur’s time running my social media, today's message is to own your weird.

: Why settle for fitting in when you can wear a frog hat and eat pineapple?
Wilbur is closing out our studio series in peak form—outfitted in his finest frog attire and enjoying his favourite sweet snack.
In a world full of fitness rules telling you who you should be or how you should move, Pilates is about meeting your body where it is and honoring what works for YOU. You don't need to fit into anyone else’s mold or move like anyone else in the room.
Outfit Choice: Unapologetic.
Snack Selection: Elite.
The Takeaway: Your movement journey is entirely your own. Celebrate your quirks, work with the body you have, and own your choices—frog hats and pineapples fully encouraged.

: Sometimes the best workout strategy for a Monday is just acknowledging that gravity is winning.
Wilbur is currently demonstrating peak "Monday energy" in his pool.
We’ve all had those days where getting aligned and ready to move feels like an uphill battle. But even when you feel completely upside down, there’s power in just showing up, breathing, and finding your center from whatever position you're in.
Monday Form: 10/10. Full surrender to gravity.
Core Effort: solid, flipping that frown upside down.
The Takeaway: If Monday has you feeling a little flipped around, don't force a high-intensity push. Focus on gentle mobility, reset your baseline, and let your body recalibrate.

Pilates Notes from a Turtle: The Power of Props 🐢
: Props aren't a sign of weakness—they are a tool for precision.
Today, Wilbur is mastering the yoga block. In fitness, there's a misconception that using a prop means you "can't do" the exercise.
In Pilates, a block isn't a cheat code—it's a feedback tool. It aligns your pelvis, supports your joints so the right muscles can fire, and can even add a great balance challenge.
Prop Placement: 10/10.
Alignment: Perfect straight spine.
The Takeaway: Don't let ego dictate your form. If a block, roller, or band helps you find the right connection and protects your joints, use it. Smart movers use props to move better.

Pilates Notes from a Turtle: Small Movements, Big Results 🧗‍♂️🐢
: It doesn’t matter how small the step is, as long as it’s moving you forward.
We are scaling new heights this Saturday. Wilbur is demonstrating advanced vertical climbing, hip flexion, and pure determination.
This is exactly how we approach movement in the studio. People often think a workout has to be massive, fast and aggressive to work. But in Pilates, we know the real magic happens in the micro-adjustments.
It’s the tiny shift of the pelvis, the deliberate stabilization of a joint, and the slow, controlled articulation of a single muscle group. Small movements create deep, structural strength. You don't need to leap a mountain to make progress; you just need to take consistent, mindful steps.
Step Articulation: Extremely small, entirely mindful.
Grip and Core Engagement: 10/10. Complete stabilization while tackling a vertical obstacle.
The Takeaway: Trust the small steps. Progressive overload and deep core stability take time. Focus on the precision of the movement today, and the big results will take care of themselves.

: Your workout shouldn't just make you better at your workout—it should make you better at life.

Wilbur is showing off his Friday pool form today. While we don't offer aqua-Pilates at the studio, Wilbur’s swim session is the perfect example of why we cross-train.
Pilates is the ultimate "foundation" work. We spend time on the mat building deep core connection, hip mobility, and spinal alignment so that when you leave the studio, you can do the things you actually love with zero limitations.

Whether your summer hobby is swimming laps, hiking trails, puttering in the garden, or chasing after kids, a strong core and stable joints are what keep you moving safely and efficiently out in the wild.
Poolside Posture: 10/10. Flawless vertical floating extension.
Cross-Training Ex*****on: Elite. Using that Pilates core stability to keep his head high above water.
Friday Energy: Peak. Ready to glide through the weekend.

The Takeaway: We don't train just to get good at Pilates; we train to build a resilient body that lets us play, move, and explore without waking up stiff and sore the next day. What active hobbies are you taking your Pilates strength into this weekend?

Pilates Notes from a Turtle: when to retract.
There is a popular fitness myth that says "the only bad workout is the one that didn't happen."

Actually, there is a much worse workout: the one where your body is exhausted, your brain is checked out, but you force yourself to smash through it anyway and end up injured.

Don't get us wrong—most days, the hardest part of the entire routine is simply showing up and unrolling your mat. Once you take that first step and get started, your body warms up, the energy flows, and the rest of the workout is smooth sailing.

But on the rare days when you do unroll the mat, start moving, and your nervous system is still screaming "absolutely not"? That is your cue to listen.
This is something the human is still working on. Luckily for her there's a perfect example right here
