A FREE 4-Class Punch Card with every year's membership with Library of Things!

Introducing our 2026–2027 Perks Partners!

While they're new to our perks program, Dance Alive Studios is certainly not new to supporting the Library of Things YXE. We're excited to officially welcome them as a perks partner this year!

Dance Alive Studios specializes in adult dance and wellness programming, offering classes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Theatre Dance, and more. Their welcoming environment encourages dancers of all experience levels to learn, grow, and have fun.

General30 and General50 members receive four free classes of their choice at Dance Alive Studios. Punch cards will be available at the library shortly for eligible members to pick up and redeem.

A special thank you to ⸸ 𝑲𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒆 ⸸ and the folks at PLWA Network. It has taken me a very long time to jump on the Land Acknowledgement train because I did not want it to be lip service. I wanted to create a connection with indigenous people and organizations in our community and honour THEM with an acknowledgement. After all, it is THEIR LAND we are acknowledging!

Slowly over the last year, Katie has helped me develop some initiatives with the People Living with AIDS Network, like small donation drives and winter gear drop-offs. I get easily overwhelmed trying new things because my plate is so full, and she made it super easy for me to help within my capacity.

Katie wrote me the most beautiful land acknowledgement and opening speech to our show. She did all the work and excellently centred the PLWA organization while including Dance Alive Studios in the message. I barely got through the damn thing, but I eventually succeeded and I think it helped make this year's show exceptionally powerful.

As a thank you gift, they presented me with this handmade painting. As a choreographer, I use a lot of sound effects and apparently the most common one is "Shoo Ba-Ba!" (dancers, ifykyk).... which I learned Katie takes from class to her work and shares the absurdity of my instruction style.

I truly don't know how to process the Beaty of this gift. It is so deeply touching that I still cry every time I look at it. It will live forever in my studio, along with the growing collection of other artwork my beautiful dancers continue to gift me.

After a long day of rest, this begins the card reading & gift unwrapping from our show on Saturday.

I am truly still floating 🥹💚 But slowly getting back to work. Please be patient if it takes us a few days to respond! Our Office Manager Jessie is also taking some much needed relaxation time this week.

Words cannot express what a FANTASTIC DAY we had yesterday at our 8th Annual DAS Show, 💪🏻WE BUILT THIS💪🏻.

🩰BALLERINA🩰 - Beg/Novice Ballet

These dancers have worked their BUNS off this year learning, for some of them, their FIRST ever dance on stage!! This banger from the 70's brings together classic rock and elegant operatic style in one of our best DAS pieces to date. Dressed to the nines, our dancers are both the audience and performer in this spectacular demonstration of first-year bravery! ✨✨

One of our Community Partners, The Library of Things, will have a table at the front of our show! We just love what they're doing for the community and we're so proud to be a small supporter of their work year-round 🙏🏻🙏🏻

💃 We're excited to be set up ahead of Dance Alive Studios' year-end performance!
