🏆 Results Recap 🏆

The second edition of the Justin Bourassa Memorial Tournament delivered a weekend full of high-level tennis — a true celebration of Justin’s love for the game.

In the Open Singles Final, Ottawa’s Cole Thurgur battled through a tense and tactical match against Georgetown’s Alessandro Sant’Angelo, edging out a 7-6, 6-4 win. With long rallies, sharp angles, and fearless shot-making, both players put on a show worthy of a championship final.

The Doubles Final was nothing short of electric. Kevin Patel and Sava Uncianschi held their nerve in a rollercoaster match, taking down Igor Iagolnik and Emmanuel Cottle 7-5, 6-7, 10-7. Momentum swung back and forth, but Patel and Uncianschi found their rhythm in the super tiebreak to seal the win.

In the Club Championship Final, Hubert Karrasch showcased consistency and experience to defeat a determined Franco Sproviero in a competitive and spirited match.

Looking forward to seeing everyone back next year!

This past weekend in Sarnia, we witnessed something special: the Justin Bourassa Memorial Tennis Tournament brought together friends, family, and players from across the country and beyond to honour the memory of someone who gave so much to the game and to everyone who knew him.

From Calgary, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, and even the United States, players travelled far and wide to be part of this incredible event. Your presence meant the world — not just in the matches played, but in the conversations, the laughter, and the memories shared both on and off the court. Justin had a way of bringing people together through sport, kindness, and community, and this weekend was a reflection of that.

A heartfelt thank you to the Love All Foundation, Lorraine, and the tournament committee for their tireless efforts in organizing the tournament and for championing the values that Justin lived by — love for the game, love for others, and love for life. Your dedication ensured that this event wasn’t just a tournament, but a celebration of Justin’s legacy.

To every player, volunteer, supporter, and fan — thank you. Thank you for your sportsmanship, your spirit, and for showing up. Whether you were competing or cheering from the sidelines, your presence helped create something truly meaningful.

Justin’s impact on the tennis world and on all of us continues to resonate. This weekend was a powerful reminder that while he may no longer be with us in person, his passion and legacy live on in every rally, handshake at the net, and every moment we come together as a community.

Until next year — thank you all.🎾
