I can relate ! Lol π
The notorious Porlier Pass, a narrow 1 km by 2 km passage located within Gulf of Georgia Strait, is to this day considered to be a dangerous route for boats to take. The pass is full of rocks, tides of 4 - 9 speed knots, and whirling eddies; mariners are advised to avoid it. Shown here in 1948 is the Island Tug and Barge Co.'s Chief Burrard running aground. She was salvaged from this mishap.
