Just a friendly PSA to all of my Canadian peeps that use Interac E-transfer: please register the email address(es) you use for auto-deposit. It’s easy to do on all banking web sites, even credit unions like Island Savings. The question and answer “security” is really a joke, as most people send the answer to the recipient via insecure email that can be intercepted too easily by hackers. If you are sending money via e-transfer to someone or a business and you _don’t_ see a message that the recipient is enrolled in auto deposit, take caution: make sure you are using the correct email address and ask the recipient if they are enrolled for auto-deposit.
