September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (aka as Orange Shirt Day)

We are taking the time to honour the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. It has become a federal statutory day because public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process.

Here are some videos explaining the history of residential schools as well as Phyllis Webstad's residential school survivors story. Phillis is the woman who started Orange Shirt Day.

Remember this when a day or days just feel tough! YOU ARE ENOUGH!

Your Worth Is Never in Question!

📢 (Louder for the people at the back!) 📢

It’s also not tied to:

🚫 Your weight or your body size
🚫 Your title, your income, or your credit score
🚫 How much you squat or how fast you run
🚫 Your relationship status or whether or not you have kids
🚫 The size of your house or the make of your car
🚫 Your number of followers or how many likes you get

Even when we objectively know this, we can sometimes forget — it’s useful to get a nudge in the right direction! Know anyone else who does? Why not lift them up by tagging them below! 🙋🏽🙋🏿🙋🏻🙋🏼🙋🏾

H/T to GGS Woman-in-charge Molly Galbraith for this important reminder.

And if you're struggling to believe this or see your worth outside your body, we highly recommend getting a copy of her book:

𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝗘𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗢𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗨𝗽

It's your step-by-step guide to:

🔥 Healing your relationship with yourself and your body
🔥 Overcoming comparison, jealousy, and self-doubt
🔥 Believing you're good enough as you are
🔥 Discovering your values and living true to yourself
🔥 Setting boundaries
🔥 Holding yourself and each other accountable
🔥 Finding simple ways to lift women up in your daily life
🔥 Discovering your superpowers and using them for good
🔥 Having more meaning and purpose in your life

… and ultimately creating a better world for women and girls.

And once you do, email in your receipt to get some amazing bonuses!

Here's how it works:

1️⃣ Click here https://www.mollygalbraith.com/book to order the book. All retailers are listed including international.

2️⃣ Email a copy of your receipt to [email protected].

The importance of a squat. It is functional and you need it for LIFE!

The importance of a squat. It is functional and you need it for LIFE!

People love to dismiss what they do not understand. To an outsider of the ‘iron game’ (which unfortunately includes many in today’s medical society) lifting weights with movements like the squat appears dangerous. Quite the opposite!
When performed with optimal technique & appropriate loads, lifting can be THE BEST method to help us maintain functional strength & the movement capabilities we want/need for the rest of our lives.
I’m not saying with this post that everyone needs to become a world class powerlifter and squat a house every week, or an elite weightlifter and do heavy cleans & snatches on the weekly. But building the strength to squat with good technique shows you have the capacity to handle LIFE. Picking up a child from the ground, getting off the toilet or walking up and down the stairs all of a sudden is WELL within your means. The ability to squat heavy (relative to your abilities) is therefore a buffer for life & gives you the opportunity to handle stress & keep going.
So the next time someone says “squatting is bad for your knees...” kindly tell them they’re wrong & “not having the ability to squat is much worse.”
Tag a friend below that needs to hear this today.👇🏼

STEPS TO HEAL YOUR 'STRESS BOD.'
⁣
Fact: A little stress here and there is good.⁣
⁣
But long-term, sustained stress? (Think living through a pandemic or navigating a job change.)⁣
⁣
Bodies don’t deal with that so well… which can make it hard for anyone to function. We even coined a term for this: Stress Bod.⁣

Here, we break down all the ways stress affects you, plus offer strategies to help balance your stress levels: http://ow.ly/qU1750DXzTh⁣
⁣
Of course, everyone’s experience and stressors are unique. And there’s no one-size-fits-all solution.⁣
⁣
Our top suggestion? Choose one small stress-relieving strategy that feels do-able for you. Practice it. Then, when you’re ready, willing and able, practice another.

This is entirely true! Hahaha!
