Ski de fond Sud-Ouest annonce un changement de leadership
Lors d'une assemblée générale extraordinaire le 23 septembre 2024, Ski de fond Sud-Ouest annonce le départ de Patrick Cobello de son rôle de Président. Toutefois, il continuera à servir en tant qu’administrateur durant la prochaine année pour faciliter la transition de pouvoir. Le club de Ski de Fond Sud-Ouest continuera d’exister de façon indépendante, mais utilisera la plateforme d’inscriptions de J’m l’hiver afin de faciliter la gestion administrative.
Patrick Cobello, figure centrale dans le développement du ski de fond et du ski à roulette dans la région depuis 2018, a exprimé sa passion profonde pour ce sport et son engagement envers la communauté. "J’ai eu le privilège de faire découvrir avec Alexandre, et John récemment, le ski de fond à de nombreux jeunes et je suis fier du chemin parcouru. Je suis confiant que cette mission se poursuivra avec l’arrivée de la nouvelle équipe dirigeante", a déclaré M. Cobello.
Stéphane Melançon prendra la relève en tant que nouveau Président du club, Philippe Comeau occupera le poste de Vice-Président, et Mylène Briand continuera en tant que Trésorière. Patrick Cobello continuera de siéger au sein du conseil d’administration, assurant ainsi une continuité pendant la période de transition.
M. Cobello a tenu à souligner que ce changement, bien qu’étant le fruit d’une réévaluation de ses disponibilités, est avant tout une décision positive. "Il m’est apparu que je ne pouvais plus m’occuper du club avec la même intensité nécessaire pour maintenir sa croissance. Ce changement permettra de poursuivre sur cette lancée et de faire grandir encore davantage le ski de fond dans notre région. Je suis très enthousiaste à l’idée de voir cette nouvelle équipe porter le flambeau et continuer à faire vivre cette passion."

Ski de fond Sud-Ouest Announces Leadership Change
During an extraordinary general meeting on September 23, 2024, Ski de fond Sud-Ouest announced the departure of Patrick Cobello from his role as President. However, he will continue to serve as a board member over the next year to facilitate the transition of leadership. Ski de fond Sud-Ouest will remain an independent club but will use the J’m l’hiver registration platform to streamline administrative management.
Patrick Cobello, a central figure in the development of cross-country skiing and roller skiing in the region since 2018, expressed his deep passion for the sport and his commitment to the community. "I’ve had the privilege, alongside Alexandre and more recently John, of introducing cross-country skiing to many young people, and I’m proud of the progress we’ve made. I’m confident that this mission will continue with the arrival of the new leadership team," said Mr. Cobello.
Stéphane Melançon will take over as the new President of the club, Philippe Comeau will serve as Vice President, and Mylène Briand will continue as Treasurer. Patrick Cobello will remain on the board, ensuring continuity during the transition period.
Mr. Cobello emphasized that this change, while the result of a reevaluation of his availability, is primarily a positive decision. "I realized that I could no longer manage the club with the same level of intensity needed to maintain its growth. This change will allow us to continue the momentum and further expand cross-country skiing in our region. I’m very excited to see this new team carry the torch and keep this passion alive."
