Race weekend is almost here, and there’s no better way to kick things off than with a shakeout run!

📍 Meet at Afterburn Rothesay (71 Marr Road)

🙌 Open to EVERYONE — you do NOT have to be racing to join us!

Whether you’re racing on Sunday, cheering someone on, training for your next goal, or just looking to get out for a fun run with great people, we’d love to have you there!!

We’ll start at the gym and head out on a relaxed 3KM loop around Rothesay. No pressure, no expectations — just good vibes, movement, and an opportunity to connect with the HYROX Atlantic Series community before race day.

Today’s focus is building the base.
Strong basics. Better movement. Better engine.

🔥 Workout

Warm-Up
5 minutes easy run or row
Then 2 rounds:
10 air squats
10 walking lunges
10 push-ups
20-second plank

Main Workout
3 rounds at a steady pace:

400m run
500m row
20 wall balls
500m Ski
20 walking lunges
200m farmer carry

Goal: Move well, stay controlled, and keep your pace consistent from start to finish.

This is the kind of workout that builds the foundation for HYROX — running, strength, grip, legs, and engine all working together.

HYROX SAINT JOHN FOUNDATIONAL WORKOUT 🔥

Today is all about building the base.

Foundational workouts are where we clean up movement, build strength, improve conditioning, and get better at the basics that matter on race day.

Workout:

Warm-Up
8 minutes easy bike, row, or jog
Then 2 rounds:
10 bodyweight squats
10 walking lunges
10 plank shoulder taps
10 light kettlebell deadlifts

Main Workout
4 rounds at a steady pace:

400m run
20 wall balls
20 kettlebell swings
20 walking lunges
250m row

Rest 60–90 seconds between rounds.

Goal:
Move well. Stay controlled. Build confidence.

This is not about going all out. This is about learning how to pace, breathe, and keep good form when the work starts to add up.

HYROX is built on the basics. The better your foundation, the better your race.
