To our Brick City Ballers membership:

Happy New Year! First and foremost, we hope this email finds you in good health. We apologize for failing to be more communicative and forthcoming with regard to the possible resurgence of our league throughout the course of the COVID-19 pandemic. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

As things stand now, we’re unable to access our gym space at Samuel-de-Champlain. To provide context, our league exists within the Association sportive Samuel-de-Champlain’s framework. All activities executed by this association have been placed on hold indefinitely as a result of restrictions imposed at the school district level for community groups of our nature.

That being said, we wish to reassure all players that this does not mark the end of Brick City Ballers. We promise to return to play when it is safe to do so. In all likelihood, our fifth season will begin in October of 2021.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us via email. Again, we apologize for failing to communicate more formally with all of you sooner.

We value your participation in Saint John’s only *women’s+ basketball league and we are eager to see you all on the court again as soon as is feasible.

Hi BCB Members:

As a result of our shortened fourth season, we had $360 at our immediate disposal in our budget. These funds had originally been allocated to compensating our referees (they receive $120/week).

In an effort to do our part during this time of increased food insecurity for individuals of all ages living in the City of Saint John, we've since reallocated those funds to Romero House & the Inner City Youth Ministry. Both entities received donations of $180 from all of us at Brick City Ballers earlier today.

These donations exist beyond the sums promised in our mandate to organizations supporting youth in sport in Saint John at the end of each season. Those will be allocated, as per usual, when recreational sport offerings for children relaunch after the outbreak.

If it's anything like last season the spots fill up very quickly, so if you would like to be on a team we recommend that you register sooner rather than later! Alternatively, we also have a sub-list that you can add your name to. If you know you are not going to make a lot of Sunday games, this would be your best option! Here's the link:

You'll notice that we've had to increase the price to $30 this season. The reasoning behind this is that our refs recommended that we have two refs for each game instead of one. This means that our expenses for paying our referees has gone up. To account for this, we've increased the cost of registration by $10 per player. As always, if you would like to see a detailed version of our budget for this season (or any!!) we would be happy to send it your way. We LOVE the magic of Excel/Google Sheets and would be thrilled to discuss it anytime of the day!

Hi friends! Thank you for an incredible BCB Season 3. We have thoroughly enjoyed playing with and against you all!

At the end of each season, our league aims to provide a small donation to an organization that promotes youth engagement in sport. To date, we have donated to Pro Kids and the LMBA. We were hoping to get your suggestions for Season 3's donation. Please comment below with any ideas, we will do a poll once all the suggestions are in :)

We’re back!!!

We hope that everyone has had a wonderful summer and that you’re all as excited as us to get back to the courts and enter into our third season of BCB!

Our registration page is now live, so if you want to guarantee your spot, register ASAP—if it’s anything like last season, those spots will fill up quickly!

This year’s fall season will run for eight weeks, from Sunday, October 20th to Sunday, December 15th. There will be no games on Sunday, November 10th (Remembrance Day Weekend).
