We offer our Puffer Fish Lessons for individuals with disabilities and our PF Swim School for traditional based lessons. The Puffer Fish Program was created on the sole idea that with swimming lessons, there is always something for everyone. Our owner and coordinator Coral Callahan created the program knowing that there was a definitive need to change the way we teach swimming lessons. As a long t
ime Lifeguard/ Swim Instructor, Recreation Therapist and Registered Practical Nurse she was able to do just that. The Puffer Fish Program is divided into two sectors that we are able to merge together in harmony. Puffer Fish is our first sector where our goal is to provide quality and individualized swimming lessons for individuals with disabilities. Our instructors are trained in client centred care and promotion of abilities. Puffer Fish begins with an over the phone consultation with our coordinator, then is transcribed to a program plan where the instructor is able to create lessons specifically to suit the swimmers needs, goals and desires. PF Swim School is our second sector where our goal is to provide quality swimming lessons catered to all abilities. In these lessons we take a more traditional approach to swimming lessons, but still individualized to the swimmers needs and abilities. For our swim school there is no individualized criteria that is needed to move on to the next level, we work on every area of swimming to create a well rounded swimmer from day one.
