Last summer, we had the pleasure of meeting Doug Grandy during a speaker panel discussing accessibility and inclusion in female sport. It was wonderful to be part of a discussion that truly understood the importance of female sport and keeping girls involved in athletics.

Doug is also the co-founder of Rink Rebels in Fredericton — an organization dedicated to creating a space where female athletes feel like they truly belong. Through his work with Rink Rebels, Doug has helped grow the female game and create opportunities for so many young athletes.

Doug has now been nominated for the Willie O'Ree Community Hero Award for the incredible impact he has made through growing and supporting female hockey. This recognition is so well deserved.

What a season it’s been for the Sackville Sirens 💙🏒

From the first puck drop to the final buzzer, this year was filled with incredible moments, growth, and so much heart. Our players showed dedication, resilience, and teamwork every time they stepped on the ice—and it truly paid off.

🏆 A huge congratulations to our **U11A Sirens** on capturing the **U11A Tier 2 Provincial Championship**
🏆 And to our **U15A Sirens** for bringing home the **U15A Tier 1 Provincial Championship**

These accomplishments are something to be incredibly proud of, and a testament to the hard work of our athletes, coaches, and families all season long.

We were also incredibly proud to see our Sirens representing on a bigger stage this past weekend—serving as **flag bearers and ice scrapers at the Esso Cup**. What an amazing experience and opportunity to be part of such a prestigious event!

But beyond the banners and wins, this season was about so much more. It was about the early mornings, the road trips, the laughter in the dressing room, and the friendships that will last far beyond the rink. The Sirens continue to build something truly special—a supportive, empowering environment where girls can grow, compete, and belong.

To our players, coaches, parents, and volunteers—thank you for making this season unforgettable. 💙

💜🏒 Community Strong 🏒💜

A huge shoutout to the **U11C-2 Ranger team** for their incredible generosity and support! 💜👏

Through their efforts, they raised and donated **$161.50** to the **Canadian Cancer Society** in support of our *Sirens Fight Cancer* initiative that goes directly toward Esophageal Cancer Research

This is what hockey is all about — coming together, supporting one another, and making a difference far beyond the ice. 💪💜
