I’ve had coaches tell me things I didn’t want to hear.
Brutal things. Direct things. The kind of feedback that stings in the moment.

But looking back, that honesty stuck with me more than any compliment ever did.
Being upfront isn’t always well received.
But it’s often what actually helps people grow.

And sometimes the “cold hard candy” is the thing you remember most.

Primary Risk Assessment: Full, uneven, or neglected skate blades.

Tactical considerations:
🏒 Edge control compromised
🏒 Inconsistent push-offs
🏒 Unnecessary energy expenditure
🏒 Increased risk of slips when you need your edges most
🏒 Confidence level: questionable

Considerations: Showing up to tryouts with questionable edges = an entirely avoidable tactical error.
