WorkSafe BC set out the regulations for Occupational Health and Safety in the Province of British Columbia. The legal requirement under the law to use fall protection are illustrated in the regulations this way:
11.2 Obligation to use fall protection
(1) Unless elsewhere provided for in this Regulation, an employer must ensure that a fall protection system is used when work is being done at a
place
(a) from which a fall of 3 m (10 ft) or more may occur, or
(b) where a fall from a height of less than 3 m involves a risk of injury greater than the risk of injury from the impact on a flat surface

Under their curriculum requirements 9 direct sections of instruction are listed. FB Personal Fall Protection Training under the company FreeBird Safety Services trains workers in 17 topic points over a 8.5 instructional day. There are a lot of other training facilities instructing Personal Fall Protection.
