Right now at Fitborough, we’re emphasizing isometric training; pauses and holds built into our main lifts.

Slowing things down helps build strength, control, and stability in the positions that matter most.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, moms-to-be, and the moms we remember today. ❤️

One of our favorite traditions every year is being part of this incredible community road race.

We’re proud to sponsor it, but even prouder of everyone who showed up, challenged themselves, and gave it their all.

We spent the last few weeks slowing things down by emphasizing th “Eccentric” portion of certain exercises. 🐢

5 seconds down on a lot of our lifts…
which sounds simple, until you try it!😅

Turns out “feeling” 5 seconds isn’t as easy as people think.

But that’s kind of the point.

When you slow down the lowering phase:

→ You build strength through the full movement
→ You challenge the tendons more effectively(why this shows up a lot in rehab work)
→ You actually learn to control the weight, not just move it

So this training phase wasn’t about lifting more. It was about earning control first, then building from there.

It was about moving better, owning positions, and building strength that actually lasts.

Strong isn’t just what you lift.
It’s how well you control it.

That’s what we saw this weekend at our Fuel Your Game seminar with the West Elgin Warriors Volleyball Club.

We focused on simple, practical ways athletes can show up with more energy, recover more effectively, and feel more prepared to compete, especially with Provincials right around the corner.

What stood out most?
Athletes leaning in. Parents engaged. Everyone looking for ways to support performance.

We’re proud to support the Warriors; not just as a sponsor, but by helping athletes build habits that carry over to competition.

they just lose the strength and stability to support it.
