UPDATE FOR TONIGHT!

Many of you were planning to join us at tonight’s Council meeting, and we wanted to make sure you knew about a change in plans.

I have decided to postpone our delegation to Council tonight.

After speaking directly with the City, speaking with a lawyer, and connecting with several people who have helped us navigate everything happening over the past few weeks, we believe the best next step is to give the conversations happening with the City a chance.

We have received some important clarification, we still have questions that need answers — especially around where Wild Fauna and our nature-based programming fit within the City's zoning and land-use framework.

This does not erase the impact the last few weeks have had on Wild Fauna, our families, or our team. But a door has opened for conversation, and we want to give that process an opportunity.

We will still be attending tonight’s meeting, BUT, we will not be speaking as a delegation.

And to everyone who said they would be there with us tonight…

THANK YOU.
The amount of support we have received from our families and community has been incredible. Your messages, letters, connections, advice, and willingness to simply show up beside us has done so much more than we can say.

We’ll keep asking questions.
We’ll keep working toward answers.
And we’ll keep you updated.

Thank you for standing with Wild Fauna.

Our last Update on September 10 💚🌿

Over the past few weeks, the support Wild Fauna has received has been overwhelming. Families, community members, fellow organizations, friends, and people we have never even met have reached out, offered advice, shared our story, written letters, and committed to standing beside us at Council.

There truly aren't enough words to say thank you.

After a phone conversation with the City, as well as conversations with legal counsel and several people who have been helping us navigate this situation, **we have made the decision to postpone our delegation to Council on September 10th.

Our conversation with the City provided some important clarification around the letter that led to the interruption of our programming. At the same time, there are still questions that need answers — particularly around how a nature-based program like Wild Fauna fits within the City's zoning framework.

We now have an opportunity to work directly with the City to better understand what happened, where the miscommunication occurred, and what the path forward looks like.

**This doesn't mean the questions have disappeared, and it doesn't mean we're walking away. The interruption to our programming had a very real impact on Wild Fauna, our families, and our team, and we still need clarity so that we can move forward confidently and prevent this from happening again.

We still plan to attend the September 10 Council meeting, but we will not be presenting our delegation this month.

To every person who said, “I'll be there” — thank you.

Knowing that our community was ready to walk into that room beside us meant more than I can explain. Your voices helped us be heard before we ever reached the microphone.

For now, we're going to keep asking questions, keep working toward clarity, and give this process the opportunity to work.

And we will keep you updated along the way. 🌿

Thank you for standing with Wild Fauna.

🌿 **WE WON’T BE WALKING IN ALONE.** 💚

Since putting out our call to the community, families, friends and supporters have started committing to **stand with Wild Fauna next Wednesday, September 9.**

And I cannot tell you how much that means.

Every person who says “I’m coming” reminds us that Wild Fauna is so much more than a program or a location. It is a community that believes children deserve spaces to play, explore, learn, connect and belong outdoors.

On September 9, we will be bringing our voice to the City of Clarence-Rockland Council.

Our goal remains simple:

🌲 To be heard.
🌲 To have a conversation.
🌲 To work toward solutions.
🌲 To find a path forward for Wild Fauna.

And now, we know we’ll have our community standing beside us.

**There is still time to join us.**

You don’t need to speak. You don’t need to be a current Wild Fauna family. Simply being there sends a message that outdoor programming for children matters to this community.

💚 **Are you joining us?**

Comment **“I’M IN”** or send us a message so we know you’ll be there.

🌿 **WILD FAUNA NEEDS OUR COMMUNITY — WILL YOU STAND WITH US?** 🌿
The last few weeks have been incredibly difficult for Wild Fauna. After being told we could no longer operate from our Base Camp location due to zoning and planning requirements, we have been working hard to understand what happened and, most importantly, **how we move forward.**

And we aren't ready to give up. 💚

**On September 9, I plan to bring Wild Fauna's voice to the City of Clarence-Rockland Council — and I'm asking our community to join me.**

Wild Fauna has always been about more than one location. It's about giving children space to be outside, explore, learn, take appropriate risks, build confidence, connect, and belong.

I want to walk into that Council meeting knowing I'm not walking in alone.

I want Council to see the families, community members, educators, neighbours and supporters standing behind Wild Fauna.

**You don't need to have a child in our programs.
You don't need to speak.
You just need to show up.**

🌲 Our goal isn't conflict.
🌲 Our goal is conversation.
🌲 Our goal is finding a path forward.

But this time, I'm asking for more than a like or a share.

💚 **I'm asking you to make a commitment.**

If you are willing to join us on **September 9**, please **comment “I'M IN” below or send me a message.**

Let's start building a list of people who are committed to showing up and standing together.

Please share this so we can reach as many people in our community as possible. 🌿🦊

We’re looking for Wild Fauna’s next home.

We’re actively looking for land in the Clarence-Rockland / Eastern Ontario area where we can continue welcoming children, families and schools into nature.

It doesn’t have to be perfect. We’re looking for the right space, the right opportunity, and the right people to help us keep building.

And this is where you can help.

Know a landowner, farmer, school, community organization or simply someone who might know someone? Please share this post and help us spread the word.

You never know which conversation might open the door to Wild Fauna’s next chapter.

Help us find our next home.
