Feng Shui is both an art and science
Named "geomancy" this ancient Chinese tradition is over 3000 years old!

It combines elements of astrology, spacial awareness and architecture with numerology and annual changes in energy.

The words translate into "wind-water" and the science uses all the 5 elements in the Chinese tradition.

The idea of our living spaces either supporting our intentions or thwarting our intentions through a conscious mindfulness towards clutter, cleanliness, having items in good repair, and finally placement of stylistic elements.

The first time i read a book about feng shui I was buying my first home in 2000/2001. I hired a feng shui consultant to support my home ownership.

I was overwhelmed with the idea of being a "home maker" recently having become a wife and mother. The system gave me solace and direction as well as clarity.

I became a Certified Feng Shui Consultant in 2003. Mostly I use feng shui for myself and with friends and family.

The part about Feng Shui that everyone can get excited about- is that it confronts subconscious patterns through your environment.

Nursing and Pregnancy.....

This week I celebrated another anniversary....On August 18th 10 years ago I weened my last child.

At that time I spent the week considering the years I had spent either nursing or pregnant.

I was approaching my 40th birthday and I counted the 3 thousand six hundred and fifty or so days I had spent in the past 15 years - spent nurturing and growing another human being.

10 full years out of 15 years of my life ( and exactly 25% of my entire life at age 40) I had spent nursing or pregnant or for 3 short months- both.

This post is in honour of all mothers and of motherhood. Nowhere in my life have I seen the divine feminine and masculine so exalted.

When it is in the light, the mother's love is the most beautiful, fierce and powerful force in the universe.

Sending love to all those newer mummas who are overwhelmed and fatigued and feeling guilty , or resentful or guilty for feeling resentful ALL of it. My hat is off to you!!

Coming from someone who is possibly on the other side (somewhat) of that deeply intimate stage full of catering to their needs....

It isn't just a nice sentiment that "time goes fast"

I am encouraging you to enjoy it while it lasts, as one day you will wake up and wish they could still fit in your lap.

✨️🎇🎆the holographic principle formulated over a number of decades and speculated about by physicists can, if applied to human experience, validate the Jungian concept of a collective consciousness ✨️

The measurement of the knowledge inside of particle simultaneously "known" inside all other similar particles regardless of how much space separates them defies the laws of the information needing time to travel🔊

The summary of the application of these findings validates mystical beliefs about the akashic field🎶

What these late 90s findings also validate and promote, is the idea that we can transform ancestral patterns between generations...🫄🏽

22 years ago today I left my marriage. Our hot water tank had burst, flooded our carpeted home and left me with no running water with a 2year old and a 7 month old to look after, while their dad was commercial fishing for 2 months.

I had to move into my parents unfinished basement with my sons.

I had no car, no degree and no job. I was 27.

At the time, I wasn't fully aware that my marriage would not recover and that I would never spend another night in the home I had bought only 2 years prior- with so many hopes and dreams embedded in that land.

I began gardening for my grandpa for money with my baby on my back.

When I look back on what happened in that year of truth and loss and grief and self discovery, I realized that what happened after I left was that I could finally breathe again.

I realized only after leaving that in that life I was acting a role, not truly seen, heard or honoured for who I truly was. And obviously I wasn't succeeding at seeing or honouring who he truly was either.

We attempted months of reconciliation but there wasn't enough there to reconnect. We didn't share enough life goals, we didn't share enough values and what I discovered and realized in the maturity I gained through this dark night of the soul, was that we shared no spiritual beliefs- which after becoming a mother i realized was FAR more important than everything else.

After facing the fact that neither of us were psychologically safe in that relationship, we grew out of it and both created the best lives we could for our sons-

They became my reason to rebuild from nothing and find purpose and meaning in my life.

Facing the shattered dreams I had about where I was and who I would be, I had to embrace humility and finding creator, because I had also never felt that alone.

Our relationship didn't appear bad or toxic to others and not many people understood or supported my decision to leave.

I had to really only rely on my inner knowing and obey my heart and my intuition, face shadows to get to the light.
