8th Hole, a par-5 for the members that will play as a 525 yard par-4 for the week. Tightly tree-lined fairway combined with its length makes it almost impossible to reach the green in regulation.

Uphill closing holes 15, 16 and 17 provide a challenging test to finish the round. The most dangerous hole down is the 172 yard par-3 17th with water front and left.

Storyline:

Welcome to ”Hogan's Alley” where Ben Hogan won 3 times in 18-month span, earning Riviera the such nickname.

Tiger Woods is making his second start of the 2019 season. As he takes his 13th crack at the Genesis victory this week, the tournament remains the only PGA venue where he has played 4 or more times without winning.

Challengers:

Bubba Watson is defending his 2018 title, and going for a fourth victory in his past six visits to the Riviera.

Phil Mickelson comes in as the hottest players in the game with his 44th career win at the AT&T on Monday. Phil has won here twice.

Five-time TOUR winner, Bryson DeChambeau has four wins in last 10 starts worldwide. Already has four top-10s in 2019 alone, including a title in Dubai

Make or Break:

Hole #10: The drivable 315 yard par 4 is one of the most interesting holes on the TOUR. Its small green is set on an angle and players are faced with challenging shots around the green, thus making the decision to go for it off the tee a difficult one.

Also, the par-3 6th is famed for its bunker in the center of the green

Storyline:

Dustin Johnson makes his PGA TOUR debut this year, having played two of the past three weeks in Abu Dhabi and winning in Saudi Arabia.

Challengers:

Phil Mickelson will seek a FIFTH WIN at Pebble Beach. 11 of 43 TOUR wins have come in California for Mickelson, plus 7 runner-up finishes. Jason Day will try to finish on top this year, as he owns 4 top-6 finishes in the past 6 tries. Korean pro Ho Sung Choi, a recent winner in Japan and internet sensation for his near-pirouette finish position, also tees it up on a sponsor invite.

Hole 8, 9 & 10: Holes 8-10 comprise the most difficult stretch. The 418 yard 8th plays over a chasm on the second shot, while the 9th and 10th are 466 amd 466 yards with the ocean on the right

"Up to 50 trees at a Vancouver golf course damaged by vandals"

Vancouver Park Board is looking into its third act of vandalism in the last month after someone sawed the tops off dozens of trees at Langara Golf Course.

Up to 50 juvenile trees — sequoia, West Coast cedar, Douglas fir, Fraser fir and alder — were damaged over the last four weeks, according to a park board press release.
