Hey everyone. I mentioned this to a few of you already, but some will be finding out now. I'm planning on starting a pro beach league for men and women. Figured this would be a quick way to see what kind of numbers I could get for the players. Please respond to the poll that's in the group. I don't know as many of the female players around Van, so please invite them to the group if you think they might be interested.
Quick rundown of what the league will look:
Games will run in January at 6Pack on Saturday and Sunday evenings (Jan 5-27)
Players will register individually and be drafted to a team.
Each team will be 2 men and 2 women.
When 2 teams play each other, the men will play in one match, the women will play in another, if either team wins both, they get the Win, if it's a tie, it will go to overtime, with a special format involving all 4 athletes on 2 courts.
I'm looking to have a minimum $2000 cash prize + trophy for the league champs, and payouts for 2nd and 3rd as well.
If you can't be there for the whole month, there are workarounds for that, as long as there are enough players in total.
At minimum, I'm hoping for 12 men and 12 women who would be interested. So if you are or know someone else who might be interested in playing, please let me know and/or invite them to the group.
I'm working on the full rules and regulations now, but I'll post it here in the next couple days.
Any questions, please ask! I'm trying to make it pretty cool and build it up to be a May-July yearly league if this works out well, so I'll take any feedback into consideration.
