Winter Wonderland Core & Cardio Workout
Warm-Up: Snowy Jog in Place (5 minutes)
Start with a light jog in place, imagining a gentle snowfall around you. Get your heart rate up and your body warmed up.
1. Blizzard Burpees (3 sets of 10 reps)
Stand straight, then lower into a squat position and place your hands on the floor.
Jump back into a plank position, do a push-up, then jump back into a squat.
Explosively jump upwards, raising your hands above your head, like snowflakes flying up in a blizzard.
Optionally hold light dumbbells for added intensity
2. Iceberg Crunches (3 sets of 15 reps)
Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor.
Holding a dumbbell with both hands, perform a sit-up, raising the weight towards the ceiling.
Imagine reaching for the top of a glistening iceberg.
3. Snow Drift Twists (Russian Twists) (3 sets of 20 reps)
Sit on the floor with your knees bent, lean back slightly, engaging your core.
Hold a dumbbell with both hands and twist your torso from side to side.
Visualize shifting the snow from one side to the other.
4. Polar Plunge Jump Squats (3 sets of 12 reps)
Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart.
Do a regular squat, then engage your core and jump up explosively.
Upon landing, lower back into the squat position.
Use dumbbells for extra resistance.
5. Aurora Borealis Mountain Climbers (3 sets of 30 seconds)
Get into a plank position, holding the dumbbells.
Alternate bringing your knees towards your chest rapidly, like the shimmering lights of the Aurora Borealis.
Keep your core engaged and your back straight.
6. Glacial Bridge Lifts (3 sets of 15 reps)
Lie on your back, knees bent, feet flat on the ground, and a dumbbell on your hips.
Lift your hips, forming a bridge, then lower them back down.
Imagine forming a stable glacial arch with each lift.
Cool Down: Snow Angel Stretches (5 minutes)
Lie on your back and slowly move your arms and legs in and out, stretching like making a snow angel.
