Huge Shout out to the following Legacy and Leaders for an outstanding job of helping promote Rising Dragon Martial Arts at the Queensborough Children's Festival. Shifu Jess, Legacy Students, Mrs. Dyball, Ms, Fellows, Ms, Sklarski, Mr. Sklarski and Friends of Rising Dragon Martial Arts, Mr. Panczel and Mr. Colin Panczel.
It is totally amazing watching your growth as Leaders in Rising Dragon Martial Arts. Special Thanks to Mr. Reiter for getting us the truly awesome Banner. Shout Out to Mr. Yu, who was unable to be there due to a sprained Ankle, It's been a hard year but each of you have grown and our hearts glow with the love you have all shown us as we transitioned from SonFire Martial Arts to Rising Dragon Martial Arts. At Northwest Districts we were presented with a 3rd place Award for Region 119C (British Columbia). Our Leadership, our Parents and our Students have honored us with their support, and their understanding. To each of you a heartfelt Thank you. Now onward and upward.

Congratulations to Stormy, picked by Legacy Student, Ms. Fellows to be May Student of the Month. Stormy is a great student not because he is a "natural" martial artist but because he epitomizes the tenacity of one who doubts himself but with encouragement overcomes difficulties. Ms. Fellows picked Stormy as May's Student of the month because he struggled with 360 degree horizontal Ssahng Jeol Bahng (Nunchuka) spins. He got frustrated, pulled back at first, as we all have done but went home and practiced, finally finding out what worked for him. The following Tuesday he returned to class, all smiles, because he won, he now knew how to do 360 degree horizontal spins. Rising Dragon Martial Art Instructors excel at helping students reach inside of themselves to find their inner Dragon. Probably only about 15 percent of students taking martial arts become martial art Specialists, but the remaining85% of students take something more important. They are instilled with a willingness to persevere. A willingness to see themselves as students of life, learning through many trials, tears and laughter. Those skills stay with them for life. Many of our past Students, (and over 26 years,) and there are many, stay in touch with us. Some are Computer Techs, Culinary students, Fire-Rescue, City Hall staff, etc; and they all say one thing, the skills they learned have made them better people. Rising Dragon Martial arts is blessed in our Instructors and in our Students and their families.
Way to go Stormy, keep on excelling in your own special way.

Tonight was our "Celebration of Tiny Tigers" Event and it was wonderful. Welcome back Laurence. Watching Tiny Tigers relate to our Awesome Tiger Team is so much fun. Thank you Ms. Dyball and Ms. Sklarski for your amazing help with the class. Tigers have so much energy and are such an enthusiastic class that even spectators (family) enjoy watching them. Two of our Tigers are 3.5 years old, they stand, bow, and recite the Tiger Student Oath like they have been doing it for years. Participate in ring jumps, ring punches, One Step # 1 and Self Defense. We know that they would love to see more Tigers in the class on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:15 - 6:45 pm.
