Excited to present our Motorized Human Avalanche Positioning System (HAPS) at ISSW 2026.

HAPS gives motorized riders a practical way to recognize and manage how their group is positioned and exposed as they move through avalanche terrain.

Looking forward to sharing this work at ISSW.

Modified Extended Column Tests (MECT) are something we’ve been working on for some time with our longtime collaborator, Iain Stewart-Patterson , to better understand the potential for snowmobile triggering when persistent and deep persistent slab problems exist within the snowpack.

We’re taking that work a step further and writing a paper on MECT for ISSW 2026.
