TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT 💙

After 5 years together and 4 competitive seasons, Team Simpson will be parting ways for next season, as Lauren and Makena are aging out of juniors. We’ve grown a lot together as teammates, athletes, and friends, and are sad to be closing this chapter of our lives.

This team has been something very special to watch. We knew from the beginning that this was more than just a curling team, but a family. What started as a passionate group of girls for curling soon became a determined, close-knit group of four young women. We’ve had some memorable wins and heartbreaking losses, but the moments and bonds formed in-between is what we’ll remember forever. We’ve grown up together, supported each other through life’s milestones, and made some incredible memories as best friends.

Although it wasn’t the ending we had dreamed and worked hard for, we are forever grateful for this unbreakable friendship and love that we’ve formed; it is truly one of a kind. We’ve become the team that 12-year old and 15-year old us dreamed of becoming five years ago. While this ride might be over, it surely isn’t the end of us for good - we’re sure our paths will find each other again.

But for now, thank you all for everything - your support means the world. Team updates and more Thank You’s to come… 💙

We are SO EXCITED to support our 2x Spirit of Sandra Scholar on March 28th for her Draw to the Pin and Burger Fundraiser! Come on down to the Highland Curling Club and grab a burger provided by the Thepaddywagonyqr, then step out onto the ice and throw your best draw to the pin! The winner will receive a prize, and there will also be a few raffle prizes up for grabs. There will also be a live band in the Highland upstairs lounge during their annual Mini Brier! ALL proceeds go directly to the Sandra Schmirler Foundation and the life-saving equipment for babies born too soon, too small, too sick, or too far.

We’re currently on our way home from Edmonton after a weekend of curling - but most importantly, after spending time with our curling family. Although this wasn’t exactly the result we were hoping to end off on, we’re grateful for this experience and to be a part of this amazing community of young curlers. We’ve made some incredible memories!

Thank you to the amazing Nicole and Marc, and to the entire Marc Kennedy Junior Classic team of volunteers and curling clubs for your hard work and support. We couldn’t have asked for a better event to finish the season off!

As the curling season comes to an end, it feels bittersweet. We know things will look different moving forward; change is on the horizon for our team, and while it’s not easy, all great runs eventually come to an end. We are grateful for the special bond we’ve created. This is definitely not the end of our team for good. More updates to come soon. 💙

U20 Provincials Finalists 🥈

We are heartbroken. But what a week.

We’re proud of the work we’ve put in to get us this far. We’re proud of the people and team we’ve worked hard to become. When you give your everything all year and it doesn’t turn out the way you’ve dreamed of, it is heartbreaking. Our final came down to a measure, and we were just on the wrong side of it. But we played until the very end and never gave up, trusted the process, and supported each other along the way, all week, all season.

Congratulations to team Semeniuk on a well-played final and good luck to them and teams Snow and Robinson at nationals. Thank you to Pharmasave, the Swift Current Curling Club, ice makers, umpires, and to all of you who cheered us on this week. We felt the support and are grateful for all of it.

We love this sport and this community.

We’re going to take some time with this and we’ll be back for the Marc Kennedy Junior Classic.
