Almost 50 (in 4 months ā³ļø)
My weight has gone up. My weight has gone down.
Life has done the same.
Over the years I've faced loss, heartbreak, stress, menopause, exhaustion, and seasons where taking care of myself felt harder than ever. Menopause alone changed my body in ways I wasn't prepared for. The things that worked in my late 30's and early 40s didn't always work the same anymore.
But one thing never changed:
I kept showing up.
Not perfectly. Not every day. Not without setbacks.I kept weight training.I kept moving.
When life knocked me off track, I got back on track.
Research continues to show that strength training is one of the most powerful things we can do as we ageāfor maintaining muscle, supporting bone density, improving metabolic health, preserving independence, and helping us navigate the hormonal changes that come with menopause.
The goal was never perfection.
The goal was always to keep going.
So if you're in a season where your body feels different, your motivation is low, or life has thrown you a curveball, remember this:
You don't need to start over. You just need to start again.
And again.
And again.
Because consistency over time will always beat perfection.
ā¤ļø Almost 50, still lifting, still learning, and still showing up.
