Fire ban is lifted but MAKE SURE YOUR FIRE IS OUT COLD BEFORE YOU LEAVE!! We had a group today that reported they found a fire that had escaped from the fire pit on a site they had just landed at to set up camp. This was DURING THE FIRE BAN and it was minutes away from entering the trees and incinerating one of that last remaining decent campsites on that specific lake.

⚠ Attention Campers ⚠ the Restricted Fire Zone has been lifted as of August 20, 2026. Please enjoy your campfire responsibly and make sure it's completely out before leaving 🔥

🌊🔦 River Spotlight: Bloodvein River 🔦🌊

Flowing through Manitoba and Ontario, the Bloodvein River—known in Anishinaabemowin as Miskwewesibi (“Blood River”)—is one of Canada’s natural treasures. Its name reflects the red granite and iron-rich rock that line its shores. 🌿

Designated a Canadian Heritage River in 1987, the Bloodvein/Miskwewesibi River is recognized for its natural, cultural, and recreational values. Flowing through Pimachiowin Aki, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it winds through boreal forest, granite cliffs, and waterfalls. 🏞️

This recognition reflects collaboration between provincial partners and the longstanding stewardship of Indigenous communities, including Bloodvein River, Little Grand Rapids, Pikangikum, and Lac Seul First Nations. 🤝

Traversant le Manitoba et l’Ontario, la rivière Bloodvein — appelée Miskwewesibi (« rivière du sang ») en anishinaabemowin — est l’un des trésors naturels du Canada. Son nom fait référence au granite rouge et à la roche riche en fer qui bordent ses rives. 🌿

Désignée rivière du patrimoine canadien en 1987, la rivière Bloodvein/Miskwewesibi est reconnue pour ses valeurs naturelles, culturelles et récréatives. Traversant Pimachiowin Aki, un site du patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO, elle serpente entre forêts boréales, falaises de granite et chutes d’eau. 🏞️

With The BWCA, Quetico, and Wabakimi all being closed due to wildfires, WCPP is seeing some of its heaviest use in decades. The park averages just over 600 trippers in a regular season. This years numbers will be anyones guess. We at Goldseekers will do as much as possible to assist anyone attempting to salvage this summers canoe trip adventure. We are currently running flat out so while we will try, it may not be possible to accommodate everyone. We're already booking into mid-late August with the last week in July and 1st 2 weeks of August already taken. Shuttles services are going to be date dependent in that late July early August timeframe so please try, canoe rentals are pretty much spoken for so if you have previous arrangements with your outfitter in The BW, Q, or Wab, and you have. a vehicle that can carry it, bring it along -I'm sure they'll be happy for a little bit of business. If your vehicle has decent ground clearance you should be able to find your way into any of the 3 southern road access points. Expect some scratches and watch rocks hiding in the long grass. We're doing our best to work through messages and emails but since we are a small operation with one point person who also needs to run shuttles, etc, we will be slow. Thank you for your patience.
