Just sent in the article for the Rapid City Tell-It Gram for June. Thought it would be a good idea to post the article here as well but please continue to support our local newspaper and still buy a copy!!
Here's our monthly update
May has been a busy month for the golf course!
Lots of memberships have poured in over the last few weeks but it’s not too late to get yours! Plenty of golf still to be played out there and hopefully some nicer weather. Memberships are still available at Rapid City Insurance, RC Co-op, and The Queens Hotel.
The Leon Houle Memorial Tournament took place on May 14th. We had 54 golfers as well as many volunteers and visitors throughout the event. It was a great success and was nice to see the golf course packed again after the winter. The winning team was Pete Cronkrite, Corey Cronkrite, Glen Bell, and Jean Bramley. A cheque in memory of Leon for $540.00 will be given shortly to the legion to help with their improvements.
Our next tournament coming up is the Father’s Day 2 Person Best Ball on June 19th. This is open to everyone and not just dads and sons! Registration is at 11:30 am and Tee Off is at 12:00 pm. Cost is only $15 per person for this 9 hole event. Pork on a bun lunch will be available as well as prizes! Come and check out this great affordable event.
After Father’s Day we have a quick turnaround and 2 weeks later we will have our Canada Day Pancake breakfast and 2 person best ball tournament. What a great way to start Canada Day and the long weekend with pancake breakfast and a good round of golf!
Mark on your calendars July 23rd for a stroke play tournament and August 6th for the Queens Open.
Reminder that Ladies’ night is on Mondays and Men’s night is on Tuesday.
The town wide yard sale is coming up on June 4th, and the golf course will be having a yard sale at the clubhouse to raise some funds for course improvements. Come by and check out the deals! If you have anything you would like to donate contact Dustin Harvey or drop it off at the clubhouse this prior to June 4th.
Looking for golf lessons? The Hamiota Rec Department is hosting golf lessons on June 4th in Rapid City. Please contact Jacquelyn at [email protected] or 204-764-3050 ext 112.
We are looking to give away some junior golf memberships. Please check out our page by searching “Rapid City Valley View Golf Course” on Facebook!
Are you looking to advertise your business? The golf course is looking for sponsorship and advertising opportunities in a variety of different ways that meet any business’ budget. If this is an interest or would like more information, please e-mail the course @ [email protected] or contact Steve Durnin at 204-573-7212. This page works as well.
