And that’s a wrap!!!

We hope you all had a lovely weekend enjoying the world game as much as we do!

We would not be able to run a successful weekend with the help of our amazing sponsors and of course the volunteers.

There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes to get to this weekend and I think we can all say a huge Thankyou to every single person and business who helped and contributed to this wonderful event that our kids will remember.

Bring on 2023!

Can you spot yourself?

The wet weather did nothing to dampen the spirits of nearly 1,000 youth soccer players in Courtenay over the May 14-15 weekend, as the Comox Valley United Soccer Club hosted the 2022 Mini World Cup.

Cheering is definitely welcomed but remember to stay positive - they are learning 😁

Supporting our kids in a sport they love is one of the most amazing gifts you can give your children. I know I miss having my parents at my games still to this day!

Welcome to the Mini World Cup 2022 – Comox Valley!

The MWC is going to be held on the fields between Valley View Elementary School and Mark Isfeld Secondary School.

While there are some on site parking spots these are LIMITED and are expected to fill up quickly.

Parking Options: (see below for specific details)

1. Off Site Parking – North Island College (NIC) – SATURDAY AND SUNDAY

2. Off Site Parking –Pentecostal Church – SATURDAY ONLY

3. Bike Valet Parking – Secure, fenced bike park at the Basket Ball Court of Valley View School. SATURDAY AND SUNDAY - PRIZES AVAILABLE!!

4. On Site Parking – Valley View Elementary and Mark Isfeld School – LIMITED SPACES

5. Drop off loops - Valley View and Mark Isfeld Schools – LOOPS FOR DROP OFF ONLY

6. Car Pool – are there other soccer families you can car pool with?

7. Walk! (If you are lucky enough to live close by)

8. Limited Street Parking on the streets around the playing fields. Thank you for respecting our Neighbours!

***Absolutely NO PARKING on LERWICK ROAD or VALLEY VIEW DRIVE***

Off Site Parking:

***Please allow additional travel time - bus shuttles will be operating in continuous loops***

We will have a shuttle bus running from the following sites in a continuous loop:

1. North Island College – 7 MINS DRIVE FROM FIELDS – 2300 Ryan Road, Courtenay, BC, V9N 8N6 – Please park in Lots A or B. Pick up outside DISCOVERY HALL BUILDING, drop off Mark Isfeld.

AVAILABLE SATURDAY AND SUNDAY - 8.00AM to 5.30PM

2. Comox Pentecostal Church – 5 MINS DRIVE FROM FIELDS – 1919 Guthrie Road, Comox, V9M 3X7. Pick up outside Church, drop off Valley View.

AVAILABLE SATURDAY ONLY 8.30AM to 5.15PM

Bike Valet Parking:

Secure, fenced, bike parking will be available at the Basketball Court of Valley View School. Bike racks courtesy of Comox Valley Cycling Coalition.

This is a great, clean eco friendly option to get to the fields! We hope many of our Comox Valley families can use this mode of transportation. You will not need to lock your bikes. Your bike will be stored in a secure, fenced area managed by volunteers. There will be daily draw prizes for those that bike to the field.

On Site Parking:

Limited parking spots available at Valley View School and Mark Isfeld School.

We need you!
To be able to hold such great events we need the help of our local community to make sure these are a smooth and safe event for our kids and spectators. Can you spare a couple of hours helping on the weekend? We are looking for volunteers in the following areas:
🚗Parking - we have a few locations that need attendants to direct families where to park and where to catch the shuttle bus
🚑Basic First Aid (Ice packs, handing out bandaids) St Johns Ambulance are on site for serious injuries
🥳Fun Zone attendants - to make sure the bouncy castles are not overcrowded
♻️Zero Waste - to ensure we are a zero waste event we doo need some help collecting and cleaning
⚽️Parade helpers - Marking out a route with markets to ensure a smooth parade
1️⃣-2️⃣Score Keepers - Someone has to keep score!
